Greetings all -

Well I read another article in today's local paper about the World Court -
and a decision that the liberal Associated Press praises as a new judicial
"standard" for the world's nations. This motivated me to research the World
Court in more detail. I came up with some shocking statistics (along with
some very informational links), which you can find at:

Middle East yesterday. This is a powerful example of the tensions in the

U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell left this afternoon for a four day
trip to the Middle East and President Bush is meeting with the British
Prime Minister Tony Blair at Camp David.=20

Thursday the Day the Middle East Stepped Back from the Brink=20

Feb. 23: Very few people knew how close the Middle East came on Thursday
Feb. 22 to exploding in a regional war. At 6 am. Israel placed its forces
on high missile readiness after being alerted by US intelligence to
movements by 6 Iraqi armored divisions deployed close to frontier with
Syria. American satellites additionally picked up Iraqi preparations for
launching long-range surface missiles. DEBKAfile=92s sources disclose the
trigger of this sequence: A warning from a European government, probably
Britain, to Iraqi intelligence that Israel would not again sit still and
wait for Iraqi missiles to rain down on its towns as it did in the 1991
Gulf War. It planned to pre-empt any missile attack by knocking out Iraqi
missile concentrations on the ground, as well the 6 armored divisions
poised for advance since early in the Palestinian intifida. This Iraqi
strength, Saddam was told, would be disposed of swiftly with the help of
small neutron bombs. Iraqi decision-makers were impressed enough to test
American and Israeli reflexes: they pushed ahead with technical
preparations for the launching of surface missiles, taking them up to one
stage before Saddam=92s firing order.

Israel received the information that the missiles would be ready for that
last button to be pushed at 6 pm Thursday evening.

One hour earlier, 2 US AWACS and 4 Hawkeye- A2C spy planes, and=20
another 36
assorted US and British fighter craft, took off from the Turkish base at
Incherlik and from US Navy carriers in the region, and headed for Iraq=92s
Western Desert. Their mission was to flatten Saddam=92s surface missiles th=
e
moment the spy planes reported them operational. Opposite Syria=92s
Mediterranean coast, Israeli Air Force craft took off at the same time. As
they crossed over the desert, the US and British airborne flotilla ran
into fierce anti-air missile fire from batteries emplaced north of the
Iraqi oil city of Mosul - altogether 35 missiles were fired. The allied
fighters blasted the Iraqi batteries in return but caused very little
damage.

A few minutes after 6 pm, everyone started breathing upon learning that
the Iraqi surface missiles had become stationary. Israel called off its
missile alert at 19.30 hours, as DEBKAfile reported half an hour later.
Thursday=92s scare can be expected to recur in the coming days and weeks.
President Bush hinted as much when he warned Saddam at his Washington=20
news
conference Thursday Feb. 22 that if he developed weapons of mass
destruction there would be consequence. But the US President knows very
well that the Iraqi dictator is already engaged in developing those
weapons, including a nuclear bomb. Jan. 22, two days before he took his
seat in the Oval Office, the New York Times, under the heading =93Iraq
Rebuilt Weapons Factories, Officials Say=94 filled several columns with a
rundown on production at an industrial complex in Falluja, west of
Baghdad, together with information contained in reports laid before the
new president. The paper quotes officials are providing details on the
reconstruction of three factories, all of which were previously involved
in producing chemical or biological agents and were closely monitored by
UN inspectors.

Bush therefore has all the information he needs to justify US military
action against Iraq, and his use of the word =91consequences=92 indicates h=
is
intention of doing so. Thursday=92s events were a foretaste of how the
US-Iraqi confrontation may affect Israel. There is more and possibly worse
to come.

Earlier, DEBKAfile Picks up Four Ominous Developments in Last Hours. The
security picture pieced together by DEBKAfile on the strength of
information from its American and Israeli intelligence sources and from
Israel military quarters looks like this:

1. Early Thursday morning, US satellites picked up Iraqi ground-to-ground
missiles moving west with launching equipment. US intelligence estimates
that the missiles would be ready for launch by the evening prompted Israel
to place all its security forces on the ready Thursday morning.

2. According to fresh reports from certain Arab capitals, Syrian president
Beshar Assad has reached a strategic decision. This is interpreted in two
ways: He has either agreed to grant the 6 Iraqi armored divisions deployed
on the Iraqi-Syrian frontier passage through his country, or given the
Hizballah the nod to unleash a long-range rocket attack against northern
Israel - or both. This development is behind the grave warning the US and
Israeli governments issued to the Syrian government Thursday morning. The
night before, Northern Israeli towns and villages were warned to prepare
for long-range rocket attacks from Lebanon.

3. Palestinian sources confirm 1. and 2. and refer to unusual Palestinian
military activity in the last 24 hours. In view of these reports, and the
spreading word of Palestinians plans to bring out heavy weapons, Israeli
units have reportedly stepped up their sorties into Palestinian-controlled
Areas A. DEBKAfile=92s sources learn that a massive Palestinian terrorist
attack may be programmed as the starting signal for a regional flare-up.

4. The combined American-British air raid last Friday missed its essential
target: a command and control center 20 miles north of Baghdad for the
coordination and dispatch of both anti-air and ground to ground missiles.
The allies had intended to pre-empt Saddam Hussein, following intelligence
of his decision to launch missile-attacks on Israel, Saudi Arabia and
Kuwait. The failed air raid strengthened Saddam=92s resolve. Now, he his
determined to go to war without delay, before the Western allies reduce
his missile-launching capability.=20

Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasir Arafat has plans in readiness to flee
to Baghdad with his close associates if violence in the territories
continues to escalate. Arafat has not paid his staff for two months and
Palestinian opposition figures are gaining influence among the general
population, according to The Jewish Week publication.

The Palestinian leader sent some of his senior advisers to Baghdad last
month, ostensibly to discuss general Iraqi support for the Palestinians.
This visit was also used to make arrangements for a potential evacuation.
One of the emissaries was Farouk Kaddoumi, who opposed the Oslo=20
agreement
between Israel and the Palestinians from the start. According to the story
in Jane s Foreign Report, Arafat is prepared for the time when Israel
forbids him to land his plane at the Gaza airport effectively forcing him
into exile. Iraq s President Saddam Hussein has always been a firm
supporter of the Palestinian cause and of Arafat. The Palestinians, in
turn, supported Iraq during the 1991 Gulf War. It would be most likely be
the move Arafat would make when Syria does launch an attack on Israel.

The near attack and alert has not been reported on public news and most
probably won=92t be for obvious reasons.

DebkaFile has a very strong reputation for accuracy and relies on
dependable intelligence sources and the report came to us direct from
Israel. Without question it is certainly a CALL TO PRAYER. We must take
nothing for granted in these days and as Peter wrote in his first letter,

4. Dan. 11:39 (Hebrew Text). The leader of the "defense force" is called a
"strange god" which means "a heathen foreigner" or non-Jew.
Documentation that "dividing the land for gain" means "to bargain away
portions of Israel in exchange for peace."

5. Rev. 13:11-14. Antichrist makes fire come down from heaven by authority
of the Beast. The Greek text gives amazing and precise descriptions of
President Ronald Reagan's "Star Wars" technology.

6. Rev. 16:13-14. The trinity of Satan is the Dragon, the Beast personified,
and the False Prophet (Antichrist).

7. Dan. 9:27 & Rev. 12:1-2. Beast personified brokers peace agreement
between Israel and Arab nations, then guarantees to enforce the treaty for
seven years. Israel breaks the agreement at midpoint, causing the Beast to
occupy Jerusalem.

8. Isa. 14:12-14. Understanding Lucifer's war with God sheds light on the
"mark" of the beast.

9. Dan. 2. The prophet Daniel interprets King Nebuchadnezzar's dream -- a
prophecy of world empires from Daniel's day to our day and beyond.

10. Daniel 7 propheises only four empires, the last of which is made up of
ten horns. The 10 horns could represent today's European Union, which
consists of 15 nations. The #10 in the Hebrew language means a base 10,
plus accumulations.

11. Rev. 17:8-10 describes 7 world empires that influenced Israel's history.
This may be a twofold prophecy. From our perspective today it definitely
represents 7 historic world powers that have had a profound, yet singular
effect on Israel. It may also represent 7 contemporary world powers that
influence Israel, such as the 7-nation Trilateral Commission (known as G-7).

12. Rev. 17:10-12 reveals the 7th world power. Historically, this prophecy
was fulfilled in Europe between 1935-1945. The 8th world power, which is
revived Rome, exists today. You will recognize it by its scriptural
characteristics found below.

13. Dan. 7:7 is old Rome. Dan. 7:8 is revived Rome. Revived Rome is a
mighty military defense force that Antichrist (the leader of Israel at that time)
will cause the world to worship (see #3 and #4 above).

14. Rev. 7:12-13. The ten horns, or ten+ European nations described in this
Scripture are not the Beast (revived Rome), but rather are 10+ European
nations from the territory of ancient Rome that become subservient to the
end- time Beast (revived Rome).

15. Current documentation that the European Union, founded 12/31/92, is
today made up of a base of 10 nations, plus others.

16. Dan. 7:8. The "little horn" with "eyes" is the prophesied rise of U.S.A. in
1776. In the Hebrew text the little horn with eyes is identical to the national
emblem of America on the back of our $1 bill. The three horns "plucked up
by their roots" is prophecy already fulfilled in America in 1776, 1803, and
1848.

17. Dan. 11:23 confirms that the "little horn works deceitfully." As proof: (1)
the hidden purpose behind founding the U.S.A. has remained secret until
1962, thus a deception to the majority of Americans and the world; (2) the
American Revolution was a war planned by a mystery religion, thus a
deception; (3) our Civil War was a war planned by a mystery religion, thus a
deception; and (4) our entry into two World Wars was to protect the same
mystery religion, thus a deception.

18. Dan. 7:19-20 cross-referenced with Rev. 13:1&7 confirms the U.S.A. is
the Beast Empire of the Apocalypse.

19. Seventeen comparisons between ancient Rome and revived Rome
confirms the U.S.A. is "revived Rome."

20. Proof that the "mark of the beast" (666) is found in the Roman Numerals
of the year "1776" (MDCCLXXVI).

21. Proof that the "mark of the beast" is imprinted on all products bought and
sold throught the world today. In fact, the U.S.A. is the power behind
developing the Universal Product Code (better known as the barcode system).

22. The national emblem of the U.S.A. is impregnated with the number "13."
In Scripture the number "13" represents "rebellion" and "depravity." The
U.S.A. was born in "rebellion" and now lives in "depravity."

23. During the Tribulation period, the "Beast personified" is the leader of the
Beast Empire. Therefore, he must either be a sitting President of the U.S.A.
at that time, or a former President who becomes Secretary General of the
United Nations. The Beast personified is identified in Scripture by the
following characteristics:

(a). In 2 Thess. 2:3 & 8 (Greek text) he is exposed as a non-Jew "not subject
to Jewish law."

(b). In 2 Thess. 2:9 (Greek text) he is exposed as a "consummate liar" of
"prophetic significance."

(c). In 2 Thess. 2:8 (Greek text) he is revealed as "the first" to make a "law"
to "parcel food by prescription."

(d). In Rev. 13:3 (Greek text) the "wound in his head" is figuratively a "stroke"
and/or figuratively an "affliction that brings him repeated calamity."

(e). In Rev. 13:14 (Greek text) the "stroke" and/or "affliction" will be "healed"
through "therapy."

(f). In Rev. 13:14 (Greek text) the "sword" that wounds the Beast, figuratively
means "judicial punishment," executed after a "battle of much controversy,
fighting and disputing." Yet, the Beast remains in power.

(g). In Dan. 7:25 the Beast personified will "think to change times and laws."
The Hebrew rendering of this phrase means that he will abuse "a fixed set of
laws" (our Constitution), and be permitted to do so with impunity.

24. Finally, Rev. 6:8 tells how the Beast personified becomes a world
dictator.

The end is near!

U.S. Scientists Craft Mouse with Human Brain Cells

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - U.S. researchers have produced laboratory
mice with human brain cells, marking a potential step toward developing
treatments for human brain disease like Alzheimer's but promising to fuel
fresh debate over the evolving ethics of bioengineering.

The research at California biotechnology company StemCells Inc. breaks
new ground by demonstrating that human brain stem cells can be induced to
grow within a mouse's skull, scientists said on Friday.

``We are not recreating a human brain. We're really just trying to understand
how these stem cells can function, and how they can be used in the
treatment of specific diseases,'' said Ann Tsukamoto, vice president of
scientific operations at StemCells Inc.

Irving Weissman, a Stanford university professor involved in the two-year
research project, said the next step could be to produce mice with brains
made up almost entirely of human cells -- although he said there would have
to be a thorough ethical review before this step is taken.

``You would want to ask the ethicist what percentage of the brain would be
human cells before you start worrying, and if you start worrying, what would
you start worrying about,'' Weissman said.

The California study involved isolating human stem cells in the laboratory and
then introducing them into mice. As the mice matured, the human stem cells
-- ``master cells'' that can develop into any other type of cell -- grew into a full
range of specialized cells throughout each mouse brain.

``It looks like human cells can follow the developmental instructions put in by
the mouse brain. They are making human components in what is clearly a
mouse brain,'' Weissman said.

The researchers believe that these mice could be used to test treatments for
human brain diseases such as Parkinsons and Alzheimer's, although these
tests have not yet been undertaken.

Tsukamoto added that the experiment also demonstrated that StemCell Inc's
process for isolating and developing human stem cells was viable, and that
cell banks could be established for future transplantation into humans.

``We're of course moving this into the development phase, and looking at
which disease indications these cells would be best used for in preclinical
trials,'' she said.

Both scientists stressed that their research, while marking a new
breakthrough in the controversial world of stem cell research, was in no way
aimed at blurring the lines between human and animal.

But Weissman added that he had already requested a review panel to look at
the research to determine if there may be ethical problems in taking the work
further.

``It is not the objective to go make mice with human brains,'' Weissman said.
``(But) it is in the domain of the ethicists, not the experimenters, to figure out
what our limits are.''

The Marine Corps is preparing to unveil perhaps the biggest breakthrough in=

weapons since the atomic bomb =97 a nonlethal weapon that fires directed=20
energy at human targets.=20=20

In an exclusive, copyrighted story that appears on newsstands Monday,=20
Marine Corps Times reports that the weapon, called the Vehicle-Mounted=20
Active Denial System is designed to stop an individual in his tracks and=20
make him turn and flee.=20=20

The Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate in Quantico, Va., had planned to=20
unveil the technology in April after briefing Marine Commandant Gen. James=
=20
Jones, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Michael Ryan and senior Defense=20
Department civilians, still not appointed.=20=20

But plans were accelerated and much of the program declassified after=20
Marine Corps Times learned of the story.=20=20

Plans now call for an unveiling and demonstration for military and=20
congressional leaders in March at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M.=20=20

The VMADS project is co-sponsored by the Marine Corps and the Air Force,=20
