Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000. ]

As a former member of Troop 106, Dothan, Alabama, I would heartily
support the Scouts moving their jamboree to Philmont Scout Ranch in New
Mexico, near Cimarron. It is a large, beautiful facility, as I remember it
from my tour there 36 years ago, and might well hold all the participants,
however possibly straining transportation, communications, and hygiene
facilities. With the commitment to hold Jamboree repeatedly at Philmont, the
investment in facilities would be soon returned. It doesn't take much
to keep the Scouts happy, which I remember from my attendance at Valley
Forge in 1962, and the dependence on government facilities could be severed
until some sense of decency and reason is restored to the White
House. - br

                    " That's How They Edited Me "

"And I saw a Great White Throne, and the One sitting on it, from whose
face the earth and the heaven fled; and a place was not found for them.
And I saw the dead, the small and the great, standing before God. And
books were opened. And another Book was opened, which is the Book of
Life. And the dead were judged out of the things written in the books,
according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead in it. And death
and hell gave up the dead in them. And they were each judged according
to their works. And death and hell were thrown into the Lake of Fire.
This is the second death. And if anyone was not found having been
written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the Lake of Fire."

"So then each one of us will give account concerning himself to God."
(Rom14:12)

Whether we like it or not, at the end of human history there is coming
a time of judgment. Believers into Jesus Christ will have a reckoning
regarding how they served Him. "For we all must appear before the
judgment seat of Christ" (2Cor5:10) Jesus illustrated this in the story
of the "talents". (Mt25) Each Believer is given "gifts" (1Cor12, Eph4:8)
to do with in faithfulness. (1Cor4:2) This faithfulness is not for
Salvation, but for what kind of "reward" he may be counted worthy to
receive. (1Cor3:14) If he totally sluffs off, he will still be "saved,
but so as through fire". (1Cor3:15) Believers are ones who are found in
the Book of Life. (Rev3:5, 21:27, Ps69:28) These are ones who take part
in the "first resurrection" (Rev20:5) or Rapture. (1Th4:17) This group
does not take part in the "second death" (Rev20:6) to which the opening
passage refers, or its judgment.

But regarding those NOT found in the Book of Life, it says "..books were
opened.." (Rev20:12) and people were judged "according to their works"
based on "those things which were written in the books". How are things
recorded in those books?

Typically, the unsaved do not recognize the Most High. They live as
though "there is no God". But Scripture calls them "fools". (Ps14:1) God
has given every man a witness of Himself through creation. (Rom1:19-20)
And while they foolishly live as though nobody knows their lives, God is
"[looking] down from Heaven on the sons of men.." (Ps14:2) He is looking
for righteousness, but only sees filthiness and iniquity. He sees that
they do not "fear" Him. (vs2-5)

When man stands before the Great White Throne, God is going to do
something similar to what happens on the TV show "Big Brother". The
"books" record the person's life, and they are read back. When a person
is kicked out of the Big Brother house, meeting with the producer, they
are shown clips of themselves as the rest of the world saw them.

As this is being written, 'recently' Jordan was kicked out. She was
shown clips of herself, and her reaction was, "That's how they -edited-
me". Intimating, that she was not this "awful person" the clips showed
her to be. That if only they had shown other clips, those clips would
have shown her to be a nice person. Indeed, when she appeared on the
David Letterman show, she was of the attitude that she was a rather
'tremendous' person, and that the others in the BB 'house' were all
"losers" and "dysfunctional". And she repeated the complaint about how
they had "edited" her.

As we consider how God observes and judges, perhaps we can receive some
learning from the Big Brother show. The Big Brother house is rigged with
cameras and microphones. There is no place to hide. Everything they do
is visible and audible. Even in the dark, the cameras are equipped with
special night vision technology so they are just as visible as if they
were in daylight.

Jordan has a background as an "exotic dancer" (stripper). While it was
obvious that she had some real serious personal issues, likely from the
guilt of her profession, she tried to carry herself as being somehow
'above' others. She would often be in the "red room" crying about how
she perceived that others viewed her. She would cry around others, that
she was not 'appreciated'. She would speak often, questioning, "Am I
-really- this 'bad' person?" She carried guilt over the matter of how
her parents would react to her 'profession', since she had never told
them what she did. But in spite of these things, she always held herself
'above' others.

Now, let's consider a couple of 'specific' items she was shown of
herself, upon exiting. Please excuse the graphic nature; but we are
illustrating, to make a point. After all, David's sin with Bathsheba is
recorded in Scripture for our learning.

In one case she and a male house guest were lying on a bed, facing each
other. She -initiated- words to him how she was attracted to him, and
was sexually aroused towards him. Her interest in him was such that, if
at other times/places he tried to be more 'discrete' and walk away, she
would entice him back in various ways. (On the 'outside' she had a
boyfriend/husband) Then, along the way, another female resident was
showing interest in this same male. Now, Jordan's attitude was that she
was going to 'purposely' try to make a rift between them, and -cause-
strife. She rather had a gleeful self-pleased expression on her attitude
as she contemplated her strategies.

Proverbs talks about the "strange woman". "A woman met him with the
dress of a harlot..she is loud and stubborn..I came to meet you..I have
found you..Come, let us take our fill of love..for my husband is not at
home.." (~Pr7:10-20) This 'Jordan' is a striking resemblance to the
"strange woman". The kind of woman practically the whole book of
Proverbs warns the young man to be on guard against. This is a vile and
evil person. In this case, she might not be a "harlot", but works in the
"male entertainment" industry. As far as morality is concerned...the
same thing. The kind of person the Jews in the N.T. would call a
"sinner". (Lk7:37)

Proverbs is also full of warnings against associating with those who
purposely contrive to do evil. "My son, if sinners lure you, do not be
willing. If they say, Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood, we
will watch secretly for the innocent without cause." (Pr1:10-11) The
warning to "Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not into the
way of evil. Avoid it; do not pass by it; turn from it, and pass on!"
And notice the attitudes and motivation of the wicked... "for they do
not sleep except when they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken
away unless they cause some to fall." (Pr4:14-16) Again, a Scriptural
definition of Jordan's "gleeful" anticipating and plottings to stir up
strife.

She is shown video clips of these things about her behavior, and...
"Well, that's how they -EDITED- me." My thought and question to her if
I was facing her... "Why was there anything so vile like that -TO- EDIT
in the first place?" The camera crews and production staff did not
"script" her to say the things she did. They did not have a casting
director to instruct her to do the things she did. She -DID- THEM
because she 'wanted' to!

But you see... this is how people of the world are. They will tell
little "white lies", snitch a little something that doesn't belong to
them. Perhaps they go to a night club and find somebody to "get laid";
they don't do it "very often". Maybe they went through a divorce, and
they contrived with their lawyer how to "get as much OUT OF him as
possible"; but that was that "one time" in the life. But most of the
time you see them, they are dressed nicely, show up to work faithfully,
smile wonderfully, and have a basically "successful" career. You see
them at the concerts, fund raisers, and church. They have a wonderful
family, and possess "family values".

Surely, God looks at them and sees them as being "good" people?? After
all, they have the attitude that they are self-righteous. -MOST- of
their lives have been good. Just "edit out" those few infractions, and
you will end up with a nice 'tape'. Like Job, they might say, "Be quiet.
Let me..speak. I will maintain my own ways before Him..I have set my
cause in order; I know that I shall be justified." (Job13:13-18)

Trouble is... God weighs the hearts. (Pr24:12) He knows the "thoughts
and intents" (Heb4:12) As "Hell and destruction are before the LORD;
even more the hearts of the sons of men.." (Pr15:11) Not only does God's
production room "edit" the tape He plays back, He "tries the hearts".
(Pr17:3) For all the finagling we may try to do as we are "right in
[our] own eyes..the LORD ponders the hearts." (Pr21:2) God "searches and
knows" us, down to every last intimate detail. (Ps139)

As God judges, knowing the "thoughts of man", He knows that "they are
vain". (Ps94:11) As God is looking "down from Heaven on the sons of men,
to see if there were any who understand and sought God" He finds that
"all have gone aside, together they are filthy", there is not a single
person who doesn't have some dirt to be "edited" for viewing.

For all of Jordan's 'self-righteousness' which she tried to persuade
everybody existed within her, in her private moments even before she had
exited the 'house' and knew how she was being "edited", she cried a lot.
"Am I -really- this BAD PERSON?" Her "conscience" knew better. Like my
ex unequal yoke who came from a background of "family values", but had
terribly dark secrets, pretended to be a "Christian", and went to church
and did all the things that Christians do. But continually had the
persistent nagging "dark side" of the ugliness, filthiness and "darkness
within". This "darkness" is called the "sin nature". The life before one
becomes "new" in Christ is called "darkness". (Jn12:46, Ac26:18,
Rom13:12, etc) The reason the unregenerate knows it's 'dark' inside is
because of God's Law written on the heart, via the CONSCIENCE. (Rom2:15)

It is based on this 'conscience' that God will "judge the secrets of men
by Jesus Christ". (Rom2:16) In that day when the "works" are manifest
from the "books" (Rev20:12), the excuse will not be possible, "That's
how they EDITED me".

Petition to Halt the Give Away of Jerusalem Under Pressure by President Clinton

.. President Clinton: do NOT force a meeting between Barak and Arafat.

Stop Pressuring Israel.

All signs lead to President Clinton forcing a three way summit meeting between himself, Yasir Arafat, and Ehud Barak at the opening of the Millenium meeting at the U.N. on September 6th. Repeatedly the Palestinians have made it clear that they will not settle for less than full sovereignty over Jerusalem, including all of Temple Mount. To demonstrate their "reasonableness", the Palestinians hint they will allow Jews to pray at Al Burak (The Western Wall) and establish a safe passage to the Wall. This "safe passage" will be a "death passage" for anyone attempting to reach the Western Wall as well as perpetuating the loss of Temple Mount to the world. Sheik Sabri, the Arafat appointed cleric in charge of Temple Mount, has said many times, that no Jew will be permitted to pray on Temple Mount. The Palestinians have implied a number of times that there was no Jewish Temple on Temple Mount and it is a Jewish fabrication. Indeed, the Palestinian revisionists have entered polemical arguments with scholarly archaeological journals such as Biblical Archaeology Magazine, as they attempt to divert attention away from their desecration and destruction of archaeological remains of the First and Second Temples. The Palestinians have not changed their position since Camp David and in a number of contentious issues have hardened and publicized their red lines to a point that no Palestinian official or group can back down under fear of death. For Israel to participate in any three way summit foreshadows the end of Israel as a sovereign nation. Clinton is desperate to clinch a Middle East peace deal prior to leaving office, and his arm twisting approaches are well known. This is Clinton's last opportunity, as his term draws to an end, and he is expected to pressure a willing puppet P.M. Barak to surrender to Yasir Arafat. It is also Barak's last opportunity to make his mark on history as Israel prepares to relieve him of his premiership. President Clinton is anxious to sublimate the stain on his name by a political gesture that while appearing noble, has all the ingredients of destabilizing the entire Middle East and provoking a major war. A weakened Israel cannot survive without the combined power of the U.S., along with enormous amounts of American funding. It is not in the best interests of Israel nor the U.S. to weaken Israel as transforming Israel into an appendage of the U.S. actually converts Israel from a strategic asset to a strategic liability, and one that under less fortunate economic conditions in the U.S. may be dropped as an ally. Also, the U.S. public will predictably disallow any foreign involvement involving American service men returning in body bags. We ask all to contact their legislators and make their protests known and demand that the U.S. (President Clinton) halt U.S. pressure on Israel and allow Israel to pursue its own destiny, unhindered by excessive American pressure. Good allies make good partners and are not a servant and a master. To locate your legislator, call your local library for the phone number. Since Congress is on its summer break, most of Congress is at their local districts making it a free call and an opportunity to speak directly to your representative. Also, sign this petition and it will be forwarded to every member of Congress.
