Another Sign of the End-Times
October 7, 2000

 It is apparent to all, I hope, that homosexuality, and related
perversions, have come out of the darkness, in which they have been
hibernating for thousands of years, into the ‘light´ of our day. The
existence of such evil, has, I think, been present in the world since
the 6th day and I think it grew and grew then ‘came to the full´
before
the flood. However, it is obvious it was not wiped out by the flood,
because it ‘came to the full´, again, in Sodom and Gemorrah. God then
destroyed those cities, along with the people (except for Lot, his
wife
and his two daughters). This evil must, therefore, have been present
in
one, or more, of Noah´s family and continued its existence. Since Old
Testament times the sins of Sodom and Gemorrah have been shunned by
most
people in the world. We know the Israelites were told, specifically,
that such evils were sins and, since the time of Christ, the Christian
ethic has, I think, been helping to keep it in check. In the last
century, however, the Christian ethic has become ‘world-oriented´,
these
sins have come out of hiding, and this evil is now spreading, at an
alarming rate, worldwide. The enactment of laws making homosexuality
legal, by some governing bodies in the United States, is a case in
point.

 The Bible tells us that, immediately before our Lord returns in Glory
to set up His 1,000 year reign, conditions worldwide will be as there
were in the days of Sodom and Gemorrah. I think the departure of the
Church will be followed by a phenomenal increase in the spread of
these
evils, amongst other things, during the end times, so that this evil
will ‘come to the full´ again during that time.

Well meaning people will say: "We must fight against the growth of
these evils!" This is appears to be a worthwhile endeavor but I fear
such efforts will be in vain. The best thing such well meaning people
can do is realize that only those who confess that Jesus Christ is the
Son of God and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the
dead
will escape the tribulation and the resurgence of evil that WILL take
place. If they do so they may then realize that instead of trying to
stem the flood evil they should be trying to save those who do not
have
a life jackets. Those without life jackets WILL be forced to face the
flood of evil that is coming, along with the judgments of the
tribulation and, during the end-times, anyone who wishes to have
eternal
life will either die naturally, or be killed. Those who have their
life
jackets on will, like Noah and his family, be saved from the flood.
This
time, however, it will be on the basis of individual worthiness. Not
matter how much we love our spouses and our children, each must make
his, or her, own commitment. Each must put on his, or her, own life
jacket. We cannot put it on for them however, as parents, we can make
one available to them. Praise the Lord!

 I think babies and small children, in homes where life jackets are
available, children not yet capable of making such a commitment, will
be
caught up also. Jesus said: "Suffer little children to come unto me
for
of such is the kingdom of Heaven." I think He has a special place in
His heart for children and it grieves Him to see children born into
homes without a supply of life jacket but the recent acceptance of
abortions, worldwide, will greatly reduce their number. Praise the
Lord!

The signs are all in place!
The future is a fact, not a fantasy!
Salvation is today!
Tomorrow may be too late!

Jesus Christ is the answer - the same yesterday, and today, and
forever!
Whosoever will may come! PRAISE THE LORD!

ON PALESTINIAN TERRORISM AS SACRIFICIAL BEHAVIOR

To understand the steadily widening Palestinian war against Israel,
it is first necessary to understand the Palestinian concept of
sacrifice. This idea plays a very substantial role in Palestinian
policies in the much- publicized war. And Palestinian terrorism is
the optimal way in which sacrifice is expressed.

Anti-Israel terrorism, as a form of sacrificial Islamic behavior, serves
among other things to protect the entire Palestinian community
from its own violence. It spurs this community to choose victims
outside itself; that is, Jewish victims. As in all traditional societies
where sacrifice is practiced, the elements of dissension scattered
throughout the community are drawn here to the persons of the
sacrificed victims and thereby eliminated.

For Palestinians who will continue their war against Israel - and
they number in the tens if not hundreds of thousands -terrorism will
be a means to restore harmony to their fractionated community
and to reinforce the Palestinian social fabric. This propitiatory
function of sacrificial rites is widely known in the anthropology
literature, but it is altogether unrecognized in the State of Israel -
the state most endangered of all by terror/violence. In ritualistic
societies most familiar to us, including those of the ancient
Hebrews, the sacrificial victims are always animals.

But there have always been other societies in which human victims
are substituted for those individuals who feel threatened. In
Euripides' "Medea", the principle of human substitution of one
victim for another appears most starkly and horribly. Because the
true object of her hatred - her faithless husband Jason - is out of
her reach, Medea substitutes her own children. Moreover, Medea
prepares the death of her children exactly like a priest preparing for
sacrifice. What is most important, Medea's sacrifice reveals the
following overriding truth about violence, a truth that should be at
the very top of the list for Israeli officials concerned about Arab
terror: Violence will accumulate until it overflows its confines and
floods the surrounding areas. The role of sacrifice/terror is nothing
less than to stem this rising tide of indiscriminate substitution and
redirect violence into "proper" channels.

But how do we know that Palestinian terrorists actually think of
their own violence against Jews in this way? One answer is that
they say so, day after day after day. There is no ambiguity in the
Friday sermons; or on the PA (Palestine Authority), Hamas and
Islamic Jihad websites. Here it is made absolutely clear that
terror/violence against Jews is a religious obligation. It is assuredly
nothing so trivial as a political/military tactic. On the contrary, for
those Palestinians who would wield terror/violence against Israel,
violence and the sacred are inseparable. For them, the correctness
of terror/violence even depends upon its being performed in a spirit
of submission, a spirit which marks all aspects of their religious
life.

It is important to understand that for Palestinian terrorists,
sacrificial violence against Israel has two categories of victims. One
category, of course, is the "vile, infidel Jew." The other is the
"glorious martyr" who kills the despised Jew (it is always the
"Jew," never the Israeli) and who earns eternal glory by "dying for
the sake of Allah." This "martyr" need not fear personal death in
sacrificing himself as a suicide bomber. On the contrary, by
choosing to "die" in this way he actually buys himself free, forever,
from the penalty of dying. "Do not consider those who are slain in
the cause of Allah, as dead," says the Koran. "They are living by
their Lord."

"Strive for death, and you will receive life," believes the Palestinian
terrorist who would sacrifice himself as well as the hated "jew
plunderer." Significantly, a series of articles on Palestinian
"martyrs" (the Shuhada) in AL-ISTIQLAL emphasizes their
presumed difference from the Jews, whom they allege fear death
and seek life at all costs. In essence, this is an unfounded polarity,
as the overriding rationale of the terrorist "martyr" is to avoid death
at all costs; to obtain a "seat in Paradise" and to be saved "from
the torture of the grave." In principle, Israeli officials who would
understand Arab terror against Israel, in part, as a form of religious
worship might seek ways to disabuse intended "martyrs" of their
particular brand of faith in immortality, but this would be far beyond
the scope of operational possibility.

As Israel continues to project its own Western, rational, American
model upon Palestinian thinking, "martyr" Samy Rahim's words
speak volumes about the true nature of the terrorist adversary:
"Every day on which the sun rises and no Jew is killed, nor any
martyr has died, will be a day for which we will be punished by
Allah." (AL-ISTIQLAL), August 20, 1999). This punishment will
arise because both obligatory aspects of sacrificial terror will have
been neglected: The sacrifice of the Jew and the sacrifice of the
"martyr." The two-sided nature of terror/sacrifice is also codified in
the Charter of Hamas, which states clearly: "...the Palestinian
problem is a religious one, to be dealt with on this premise...."I
swear by that who holds in His Hands the Soul of Muhammad! I
indeed wish to go to war for the sake of Allah! I will assault and kill,
assault and kill, assault and kill." Lest anyone believe that the
more "moderate" Arafat feels differently, consider his recent
remarks, in Gaza, to Palestinian "security" forces: "You will fight
for Allah, and you will kill and be killed, and this is a solemn
oath....Our blood is cheap compared with the cause which has
brought us together, but shortly we will meet again in heaven....."
Central to these remarks is the duality of sacrificial behavior; the
fighters "will kill and be killed...." Victory for the Palestinian people
will come when both the despised Jews and the Arab "martyrs"
suffer death. But while death for the Jews will be final and unheroic,
a confirmation of intrinsic Jewish limitations and unworthiness,
death for the Palestinians will be only a temporary inconvenience
on the way to eternal life. It is only by killing Jews and
subsequently being killed by them that true freedom from death
can be realized.

Yasir Arafat's appointed clergy, preaching on the Temple Mount on
August 11, 2000, spoke as follows: "Palestinians spearhead
Allah's war against the Jews. The dead shall not rise until the
Palestinians shall kill all the Jews....All agreements with Israel are
provisional." The Palestinian solution for "the Jews" is a Final
Solution. Only as Israel begins to understand that this solution is
rooted in the concept of sacrifice can it begin to take essential
steps toward national survival.

The Security Council this evening deplored the provocation carried
out at Al-Haram Al-Sharif in Jerusalem on 28 September, and
subsequent violence there and throughout the territories occupied
by Israel since 1967, which had resulted in more than 80
Palestinian deaths.

Adopting resolution 1322 (2000) by 14 votes in favour to none
against, with 1 abstention (United States), the Council condemned
acts of violence, especially the excessive use of force against
Palestinians. Deeply concerned by the tragic events that had taken
place since 28 September, which had led to numerous deaths and
injuries, mostly among Palestinians, the Council called for the
immediate end of violence, avoidance of new provocative actions
and a return to normality in a way that would promote prospects for
the Middle East peace process.

Further, the Council stressed the importance of establishing a
mechanism for a speedy and objective inquiry into the tragic events
of the last few days with the aim of preventing their repetition. It
called upon Israel to abide scrupulously by its legal obligations and
its responsibilities under the 1949 Fourth Geneva Convention
relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.

The meeting began at 7:50 p.m. and adjourned at 7:54 p.m.

Resolution

U.N. Security Council passes Mideast resolution, U.S. abstains

UNITED NATIONS -- After days of marathon talks, the Security
Council passed a resolution Saturday condemning the use of force
"especially" against Palestinians in the Middle East.

The resolution said the council "condemns acts of violence,
especially the excessive use of force against Palestinians,
resulting in injury and loss of human life."

The United States abstained from the vote. U.S. objections
included the language of the proposal, which calls the visit by
Israeli Likud official Ariel Sharon to Holy sites in East Jerusalem a
"provocation."

A majority of U.N. members blame Israel for the upsurge in
violence and were determined to charge Israel in a resolution.

The vote was 14 for the resolution, none against and one
abstention.

"The United States does not think this is a very good resolution, to
put it mildly," U.S. ambassador Richard Holbrooke said after the
vote. "It was one-sided, it did not reflect the fact that Israelis have
been killed and wounded. We want resolutions that contribute to
the resolution of problems, not inflame situations."

Palestinian U.N. observer Nasser al-Kidwa praised the council's
action, saying it could help revive Middle East peace.

He also lauded the inclusion of language calling for "establishing a
mechanism for a speedy and objective inquiry" into the violence.

The resolution also called on Israel, which it termed the "occupying
power," to abide by its "legal obligations and its responsibilities"
under the Geneva Convention's provision to protect civilians in
wartime.

It also asked for an immediate resumption of negotiations in the
Middle East peace process.

Earlier, U.S. President Bill Clinton asked for a delay in the vote
after a final draft resolution was offered that the United States said
it had little choice but to veto.

As one of five permanent member countries on the Security
Council, the United States has the right to veto any resolution and
kill it.

Members of the developing countries -- which back the
Palestinians -- agreed to changes and a new text was then sent to
Clinton and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, diplomats said.

The United States still doesn't approve of the resolution but decided
not to veto it, U.S. sources said.

It's so very true that our only salvation is in Jesus Christ but it is also true
that nothing we do is in vain if we are obeying the Lord's command. And
He said to be "salt, to be "light," and "to occupy" till He comes. We are
told to resist the evil one; in doing so, we resist that flood of evil you
mentioned. It is in resistance to evil and darkness that we have the best
opportunities to share the Gospel of salvation with those who are lost.

Let us then be ready..... but let us also "stand, and having done all
to stand." I am sure that you in no way intended to imply that we should
sit down and become passive. Perhaps one of the things your reminder
should bring to our minds is that our warfare is not against flesh and
blood; and we should, therefore, use wisdom in how, where, and whom we resist.

PA Leadership Calls for Continuing the Intifada

Arab Action Expected

Speaking to a conference in Tunis, PA Chairman Yasir Arafat said: "Just
as the Palestinian and Tunisian blood mixed at Hamam al-Shat [Arafat's
headquarters in Tunis which were bombed by Israel in October 1985 in
retaliation for terrorist operations] so will the Palestinian blood mix
with the Arab blood in defense of the legitimate rights of our people -
at the head of which is the establishment of a Palestinian state with
Jerusalem as its capital… Whether some [i.e. Israel] like it or not."

PA National Guidance Directorate Head Mazen 'Izz Al-Din proposed, among
other things, that: "The continuation of the Palestinian bloodshed might
push part of the Arab military to carry out military operations against
Israel. As in the case of the Egyptian soldier Suleiman Khater and the
Jordanian soldier Al-Daqamsa who both dared to kill groups of Jews.
Also, Palestinian bloodshed will push parts of the Arab countries to
launch missiles against Israel as the President of Iraq did in 1991 when
he launched 39 missiles against Tel-Aviv." (2)

Calls for Continued Violence

PLO Representative for Refugee Affairs As'ad Abd Al-Rahman said, "The
negotiations that are being conducted between the Palestinian and
Israeli sides are negotiations of blood. Despite the many casualties
the Palestinian people are inclined to continue the confrontation
because it is beginning to bear fruit." (3)

PLO Executive Committee Committee, Abu Mazen, at a reception for a
delegation of Arab intellectuals and poets, said "I don't see an end to
the clashes in the foreseeable future. The clashes between the helpless
Arab people and the mighty occupation army will not end soon." (4)

PA Minister of Supplies, Abd Al-Aziz Shaheen, stated "We will turn
ourselves into invisible bombs against [Israeli] soldiers. The blood
will always defeat the sword. This is human history." (5)

Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) member and Chair of the PLC's Land
Committee Salah Al-Ta'mari, stated, "The Israeli soldiers must be routed
from Rachel's Tomb and the area in its entirety should be returned to
the boundaries of Bethlehem [as was done in Joseph's tomb in Nablus]."

Jerusalem and the Refugees

The Arafat appointed Mufti of Jerusalem and Palestine Ikrimi Sabri said,
"There is no room for compromising solutions with regard to occuppied
Jerusalem. Israeli citizenship is forbidden for Palestinians according
Shari'a [Islamic law] those who have already acquired it should give it
up because it does not honor them particularly since Israel's days are
numbered. (7)

Abu Mazen said, "Israel is fully responsible for the creation of the
refugee problem. It is Israel that forced them out of their towns and
villages by using all forms of violence against them in 1948 through its
army and armed gangs. These facts were admitted by the New Historians
who revealed in their books the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian
people. Their return will not be to the future Palestinian state but to
their lands from which they were driven out in 1948." (8)

A Fatah Communiqué

On October 8, 2000, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, published a communiqué from the
Supreme Committee of the Fatah Movement. The Fatah movement is a group
within the PLO that is directly controlled by Arafat. Following are
excerpts from the 13 point communiqué:

Point 1: "The Fatah movement asserts the [need] to continue the Intifada
of Al-Quds with all its activities. It calls upon all its courageous
sons who led the ranks of fighters in all confrontations to continue
their struggle and escalate it even more…"

Point 2: "The movement blesses and esteems our brothers in the security
apparatuses who defend their people with their blood."

Point 4: "The Movement calls upon our people to prevent joint patrols
from passing through the PA areas and calls for the suspending security
coordination with Israel."

Point 5: "It calls upon [the people] to cut all bypass roads and stop
the movements of the settlers."

Point 11: "It calls upon the people to participate in women's parades
which will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 10 in various districts of the
homeland."

Point 12: "It calls upon the people to participate in Arab rage marches
on Friday, Oct. 13 after Friday prayers."

Point 13: "The movement blesses our people on the liberation of Joseph's
Tomb by the fighting arms of the Fatah on the way towards the liberation
of all of sites of the homeland." "Revolution until victory until
victory until victory!"

Sha'ath the PLO's Strategy

Following are excerpts from an October 7, 2000, interview with
Palestinian Authority (PA) Minister of Planning and International
Cooperation Nabil Sha'ath to the ANN Channel, an Arabic language, London
based, satellite TV channel:

"QUESTION: Is the Palestinian leadership saying 'we support
negotiations, settlement, peace,' or is it turning things upside down in
the direction demanded by the [Palestinian] opposition?

SHA'ATH: Historically many people fought and negotiated at the same
time…There are many examples of this…Vietnam, Algeria… special
conditions were created [in recent years] that forced negotiations on us
as an alternative to fighting. But that too has a limit… The
Palestinian people should not limit either its popular activity or its
political activity…

QUESTION: Can we say then that the Intifada is another weapon in the
negotiations?

SHA'ATH: …Negotiations with Syria were conducted parallel to the
fighting in Lebanon… The question is not a question of a specific
choice saying that this is the time for negotiations and this is the
time for fighting… But the political way of action has its limits too,
when sixty martyrs fall… it is the right of the Palestinian people to
burst out. It is the right of the people and its leadership to take all
measures for the liberation of the homeland.

QUESTION: Have you ever considered the option of refusing to negotiate?

SHA'ATH: Under no conditions will the PA oppose its people when they
rise up in Intifada. There is always a certain limit after which the PA
would say there is no use in these negotiations being conducted parallel
to the Intifada. After all even if the Intifada succeeds it has to lead
to negotiations again. You cannot leave our people with only one option
when they fight an enemy that is ten times stronger. You cannot exclude
the use of any weapon that can be used with international legitimacy in
order to end the occupation of our lands. International legitimacy -
that is resolution 242.

This option of fighting to force the occupation out was removed… when
there was a hope that negotiations would lead to Israel's leaving all
the territories occupied in 1967. But there always existed the…
possibility that Israel won't leave. Therefore President Arafat always
said, 'All options are open.' No one believed him when he said that,
but in fact throughout the period [of] negotiating three 'Intifadas'
occurred…. The Palestinian people never ceased during seven years of
negotiations from bursting out into 'Intifadas' against Israel and from
saying its words in ways different from the way of the negotiating
table.

[In answer to another question] …I don't want anyone to be surprised
that the Palestinian people are engaged in an Intifada. This is not the
first time. Eighty years ago the Palestinian people were already
fighting the Zionist existence and the British occupation [of
Palestine]… The Palestinian people are a fighting people using weapons,
martyrdom, 'Intifadas,' and suicide bombings. It is his fate to fight
and negotiate at one and the same time.

QUESTION: If tomorrow it is agreed to return to negotations will you
stop the Intifada?

SHA'ATH: Israel always says: 'stop the Intifada in order for us to
return to negotiations.' Israel said it from day one. But the Intifada
would not stop. I believe that today we are absolutely not speaking any
longer about resuming negotiations. Now we are talking about… an Israel
withdrawal and about the need to stop the Israeli occupation…. Namely
full withdrawal to the June 4, 1967 lines and the return of the
refugees…

QUESTION: Why aren't you releasing the Jihad warriors [Hamas and Islamic
Jihad prisoners] from PA jails?

SHA'ATH: Had it not been for the siege that is imposed on us and for the
danger that Israel would try to assassinate or kidnap those people - we
would have released them all. [By holding them in prisons] we protect
them. …the agreement with Israel states that any act of killing or
injuring Israelis gives Israel the right to demand the perpetrator's
extradition unless the PA tries them. Therefore their arrest and trial
by us were always the necessary minimum to protect those people from
being kidnapped, arrested, or assassinated by Israel."
