Hi! I am so excited about the discoveries of pure red heifers. I have a
question for you and hope you will forgive my ignorance and lack of
documentation.
I have read that it would be possible for the temple to be rebuilt on
the temple mount without disturbing the dome of the rock, is this so?
Also, when Israel reclaimed Jerusalem in 1967,WHY did they not also
reclaim the temple mount?

I am not sure if this is so or not but I had just read something
interesting about the temple in a book I am reading. So here goes......

...finally in Ezra 3:1-6, which records events in the first year of Cyrus,
21 years before the Temple was finished, we are told that upon arriving in
Y'rushalayim (Jerusalem), the priests:
...began to offer burnt offerings to the LORD, though the foundation
of the LORD's temple had not yet been laid.
Prophetically, this passage reveals something interesting. Many think the
Temple in Y'rushalayim has to be rebuilt *before* the resurrection and
rapture. I do not agree. Based on the precedent in Ezra 3:1-6, only the
altar needs to be in place. The actual Temple can come later (after the
start of the tribulation).

This is an interesting topic. I was refreshing my memory on the
location of the Dome of the Rock in comparison with the supposed
location of the temple, and according to Grant Jeffrey ("Armageddon:
Appointment with Destiny"), the "good will gesture" that Moza
speaks about is, in part, a fulfillment of prophecy.
One plan has the temple location as being north (approx. 150 to 330
feet) of the Dome of the Rock. This means that should the temple be
built in this particular location, the Dome of the Rock would be part of
the "Court of the Gentiles." The temple could be built -- perhaps as
part of some future agreement? -- and not even disturb the Mosque.

the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the
altar, and them that worship therein. {2} But the court which is
without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto

Feb. 16, 1999 -- The disputed Kuril
Islands were soundly jolted by two
strong temblors ranging in magnitude
from 5.3 to 6.0 late on Monday,

The shocks occurred beneath the
Pacific Ocean floor about 93 miles (150
km) southeast of Iturup Island.

Iranian Tremors
Feb. 16, 1999 -- Two separate
earthquakes rattled western Iran over
the weekend. The first registered a
magnitude of 4.3 in Ilam province on
Saturday. It was followed by a

province a day later. No damage or
injuries were reported as a result of
either tremor.

WHEN SILENCE ISN'T GOLDEN (Aaron Lerner, Independent Media review and
Analysis 2/17/99) In January 1998, a small group of ultra-secularists
petitioned their country's High Court of Justice to outlaw ritual
circumcision on the grounds that it is criminal assault. The court
decided in February to consider the case and on September 3 held its
first hearing. What country's Supreme Court would even consider
entertaining such a petition today? Russia? No. The US? Of course not.
"It is inconceivable that the only country in the world to prohibit
circumcisions should be Israel." So argued attorney Yehuda Shefer of
the State Attorney's Office. But the High Court ignored Shefer's call
to reject the petition out of hand. The next hearing is expected in
April. I'm not making this up. I wish I were. But case No. 5780/98
is a real case.

TURNER APOLOGIZES FOR REMARKS ABOUT POPE
On Wednesday afternoon, cable TV billionaire Ted Turner issued a terse
apology for his remarks to a population-control group Tuesday.
Turner, founder of CNN and vice chairman of TIME WARNER, gave a speech
in which he made an ethnic joke about Polish-born Pope John Paul II
and questioned the Ten Commandments.
Tuesday, speaking at the 27th annual meeting of the National Family
Planning and Reproductive Health Association, Turner had called the
Ten Commandments "a little out of date," and said, "If you're only
going to have 10 rules, I don't know if adultery should be one of
them."
During a Q-and-A session after the speech, Turner was asked what he
would have to say to the Pope, who opposes the birth control programs
Turner supports. Turner's response was to joke, "Ever seen a Polish
mine detector?" and then tapping the ground with his foot.
As the DRUDGE REPORT first reported here last night, Turner's speech
was covered exclusively Wednesday morning in the WASHINGTON TIMES --
and by Wednesday afternoon, radio talk show callers were livid.
By 6 p.m. Wednesday, Turner responded with a one-sentence statement:
"Mr. Turner regrets any offense his comments may have caused while in
Washington, D.C. and extends his heartfelt apologies."
Since marrying actress-activist Jane Fonda in 1991, Turner has
increasingly supported UN population and environmental policies. In
November 1997, speaking at a 30th anniversary dinner for Zero
Population Growth, Turner said ZPG's opponents were "the forces of
ignorance ... prejudice ... hatred, fear. The forces of darkness in
general."
In Tuesday's speech, Turner admitted he had "five kids -- boom, boom,
boom -- by the time I was 30," but then suggested a "one-child policy"
to reduce earth's population from its present 5.9 billion to an
"ideal" 2 billion.
It was not the first time Turner had called for a one-child policy.
Last September, Turner made the same suggestion at a "Smart Growth"
real estate conference in Atlanta, where he said he regretted
fathering five children: "If I was doing it over again I wouldn't have
done it, but I can't shoot them now that they're here."
The only nation now with a one-child policy is Communist China.

Wed Feb 17 , 1999 -- A deadly influenza outbreak has been sweeping
through Japan, Reuters reported. Around 244 people had died of flu as
of late Monday, around 150 of them senior citizens, the daily Tokyo
Shimbun said. Thirty-three of the victims were children of junior
high-school age and younger. Japan's health ministry said the worst
of the epidemic appeared to be over, but added that caution still had
to be taken to prevent further cases.
This winter's flu outbreak is expected to surpass last year's
epidemic of 1.27 million reported flu cases, the highest recorded by
the Health and Welfare Ministry in 10 years. In 1995, 1,244 people
died in Japan from the flu in one of the deadliest flu seasons in
recent history.
'Killer bees' attack Mexican school

panic at an elementary school in the Mexican resort of Acapulco and
sent 10 children and two teachers to the hospital with stings, the
Associated Press reported. Pupils, teachers and neighbors were
evacuated from the area in the southwestern coastal town after the
Africanized bees, which attack in great numbers at the slightest
provocation, descended on the school grounds Tuesday, Televisa said.
Several people have died in Argentina and Costa Rica in recent years
after receiving enormous numbers of stings from the insects, and
livestock have also been stung to death.

The Consoler on the Mount of Olives
Consoler (in Hebrew, Menahem) is the nickname of the Messiah of
Israel. And his father is called Amiel--"My nation to God." Menahem
the son of Amiel will appear in the end of time on the Mount of
Olives, before the gates of Jerusalem. And the exiles shall return and
ascend to the mountain, and see the redemption of Zion and Jerusalem.
A poet describes the appearance of Messiah--the Consoler:
"In those days, at that time,
In the fifth month, the month of Ab, [July/August]
The Pure, dressed in his robes of vengenace,
By his wrath the Mount of Olives will be cleft.

Methodists to worship 'God the Mother'

THE Methodist Church broke with centuries of Christian tradition
yesterday and included the first prayer to "God the Mother" in its
worship book for the Millennium.
The prayer, which initially was removed from the book because of
protests from traditionalists, appears in one of nine services for
Holy Communion. It reads:
God our Father and our Mother,
we give you thanks and praise
for all that you have made,
for the stars in their splendour and the world in its wonder
and for the glorious gift of human life.
With the saints and angels in heaven,
we praise your holy name.
It is the first time in Britain that a mainstream Church has referred
to God as a woman in an official service book, although feminists and
liberals have been pressing for it for decades. The 600-page Methodist
Worship Book, which has taken nine years to complete, replaces the
1975 text and will be used for the first time in Methodist churches on
Easter Sunday.
The Methodist liturgical committee yesterday dismissed claims that the
prayer was in any way radical and said that the femininity of God was
referred to in the Bible and the prayers of the medieval mystic, Dame
Julian of Norwich. The Prophet Isaiah (ch.66, v.13) recounts the words
of God: "As a mother comforts her son so shall I comfort you." And
Psalm 131 speaks about the relationship with God being like a weaned
child clinging to its mother.
The Rev Neil Dixon, the secretary of the Faith and Order Committee,
said the prayer was not an attempt to change the gender of God. During
a press conference in Welsey's Chapel in the City of London Mr Dixon
said: "God is not a person. God is a spirit and is neither male nor
female. He is beyond gender. The fact we have used male imagery for
centuries has reinforced the image of God as a man. But if all human
beings are created in God's image then feminine as well as masculine
attributes must reflect God's nature."
The Methodist Church was ahead of the Church of England by 20 years in
accepting women's ministry and there is no office in the Church which
is closed to women ministers. The marriage service in the new worship
book also removes the ceremony of "giving away" the bride by her
father. This feature of the wedding is replaced with an option for
both the bride and bridegroom to be "presented" at the altar by a
friend or relative.
The Methodist Church has a more liberal attitude to the remarriage of
divorcees than the Church of England and currently 63 per cent of its
weddings involve at least one divorced person. A subtle
acknowledgement of the number of marriages that fail is included in
the opening words for the minister in the wedding service.
In the 1975 text, the minister says: "According to the teaching of
Christ, marriage is the lifelong union in body, mind and spirit." The
new version, however, declares it to be God's will that "husband and
wife should
experience a lifelong unity of heart, body and mind". Mr Dixon said:
"It is not a theological shift, but we do want to provide material
which people feel comfortable with."
However, it was not the wedding service or God the Mother which
sparked controversy within the Church, but a decision to drop the
"prayer for humble access" before Holy Communion from a number of
services. The liturgical committee tried to weed the prayer out of the
service on the grounds that it was "grovelly" and placed too much
emphasis on sin. The prayer, which begins "We do not presume to come
to this your table, merciful Lord . . .", no longer appears in the
services for Easter, Christmas and two ordinary season Holy Communion
services.
But after sacks of letters calling for the prayer to be rescued, the
liturgical committee has restored the prayer to other services. Rev
Norman Wallwork, one of 15 members of the liturgical committee, said:
"An overriding element of the Eucharist is to be lifted up by the
healing of God. We do not want people to be brought down at this holy
moment and reminded they are a sinner."
The new worship book, which is on sale at =A315, also includes for the
first time funeral services for a child and for a stillborn baby.

A new seven-day-a-week supermarket, named Drugstore-2000, will open
in the heart of Jerusalem this Shabbat. The Meretz representative in
the Jerusalem municipality, Ornan Yekutieli, says that this will be a
"proper Zionist response to the hareidi demonstration against the
Supreme Court" - a wry reference to right-wing calls for new
settlements in response to terrorist attacks. A municipality
spokesman said that the opening of the store on Sabbaths will be in
violation of city by-laws. Hareidi representatives have already
announced that they will protest the opening of the store on Sabbaths.
The Toronto Globe and Mail reported yesterday that Israel is
considering allowing Jewish "zealots" to pray on the Temple Mount.
Thepossible change is in response to a plan by the Moslem Waqf to
change the status quo there and move the office of the Grand Mufti of
Jerusalem to the Mount, the site of the First and Second Temple.
Yehuda Etzion, a leader of the Temple Mount Loyalists, told Arutz-7
today, "We have been working for such an announcement for a long
time. It is too bad that it may be the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem who
may bring it about."
The gathering of international Christian decision-makers being hosted
by the Tourism Ministry, beginning this Friday, will be carried live
on the Internet. Hundreds of Christian religious leaders are
arriving in Israel to discuss plans for year-2000 celebrations, and
the opening session, along with scenes from their tours of Israel,
will be able to be seen at <www.realtime2000.com>. Tourism Minister
Moshe Katzav says that he views the Holy Land 2000 conference as an
extremely important event by which to "market" the year 2000 in
Israel to the Christian world.

Bright scientists put brakes on speed of light

BOSTON - Scientists have managed to slow down light so much that if it
were a car on a highway, it could get a ticket for not getting over to
the right-hand lane.
The speed of light is normally about 186,000 miles per second, or fast
enough to go around the world seven times in the wink of an eye.
Scientists succeeded in slowing it down to 38 mph. They did this by
shooting a laser through extremely cold sodium atoms, which worked
like "optical molasses" to slow the light down.
While slow-speed light now is just a laboratory plaything for top
physicists, Lene Vesergaard Hau, the Danish scientist who led the
project, said practical applications could be a few years away. She
envisions improved communications technology, switches, even
night-vision devices.
The atoms were contained in what is called a Bose-Einstein condensate,
a condition created when matter is cooled almost to absolute zero, the
lowest temperature theoretically possible. That's 459.67 degrees below
zero.
"We have really created an optical medium with crazy, bizarre
properties," Hau said. "Everybody knows that light is something that
goes incredibly fast. If you could possibly slow it down to a real
human dimension. That was really fantastic."
The research, conducted at the Rowland Institute for Science in
Cambridge and Harvard University, was described in yesterday's issue
of the journal Nature.

Scientific dating of Daniel's "time-oriented" prophecy shows that
14,000 days passed from the day of Christ's triumphal entry into
Jerusalem on April 6, AD 32, to the destruction of the temple
on August 5, AD 70. In AD 32, Christ presented himself to the nation
that rejected him. Exactly 14,000 days later, the temple was
destroyed.

Now move forward in time to the 20th and 21st centuries to consider
how the number 14,000 fits so well into modern history. Israeli
conquest of Jerusalem on June 7, 1967 points to the Feast of Trumpets
on October 4, 2005, exactly 14,000 days later. The Feast of Trumpets
is symbolic of Christ's return. Will Christ return on this day?

SPRAYED FROM THE SKIES

SEATTLE, WA.... As formations of unmarked tanker aircraft
continue to criss-cross American skies on a mission authorities
refuse to disclose, an environmental laboratory has identified
an extremely toxic component of the spray drifting over cities
and countryside.
ENS has learned that samples of oily fallout collected by
farmers, truck drivers and pilots in Maryland and Pennsylvania
were tested by Aqua-Tech Environmental of Marion, Ohio in
September, 1997 and found to contain ethylene dibromide (EDB).
An extremely hazardous pesticide, EDB was banned by the US
Environmental Protection Agency in 1983.
But in 1991, the composition of jet fuel used by commercial
and military jet aircraft in the U.S. was changed from JP4 to
somewhat less flammable JP8. A Department of Defence source
says the move "has saved some lives" in air crashes. Ethylene
dibromide is a key component of JP8.
The 1991 Chemical Hazards of the Workplace warns that repeated
exposure to low levels of ethylene dibromide results in
"general weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, chest pains, coughing
and shortness of breath, upper respiratory tract irritation"
and respiratory failure caused by swelling of the lymph glands
in the lungs. "Deterioration of the heart, liver and kidneys,
and hemorrhages in the respiratory tract," can also result from
prolonged contact with JP8.
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's
hazardous materials list: "Ethylene dibromide is a carcinogen
and must be handled with extreme caution." A seven-page summary
of this pesticide's extreme toxicity notes that EDB may also
damage the reproductive system. According to the EPA, "Exposure
can irritate the lungs, repeated exposure may cause bronchitis,
development of cough, and shortness of breath. It will damage
the liver and kidneys".
Mark Witten, a respiratory physiologist at the University of
Arizona in Tucson where an official US Air Force study on JP8
was carried out, told Scientist in March, 1998 that crew chiefs
"seem to have more colds, more bronchitis, more chronic coughs
than the people not exposed to jet fuel."
EDB is 6.5-times heavier than air. Unlike normal contrails,
the thick white streamers being sprayed from downward-pointing
tailbooms over at least 39 states does not dissipate, but
spreads into an overcast that refracts a purple color in
sunlight and appears suddenly as an oily film in puddles and
ponds.
Hundreds of photographs and videotapes made by ground observers
show pairs or larger formations of aircraft spreading a white
mist that thickens and drifts toward the ground. More than 200
eye-witnesses - including police officers, pilots, military and
public health personnel - have provided detailed accounts of
aerial spraying in characteristic "X"s and east-to-west grid
patterns, followed by occluded skies - and acute auto-immune
reactions and respiratory infections throughout affected
regions.
"I keeps coughing phlegm that tastes bad," 50 year old Mary
Young of Sallisaw, Oklahoma told ENS after an aircraft sprayed
her home at rooftop level one night last January with something
that struck the windows like sand. "My eyes hurt, my joints
hurt. I'm not catchin' my breath right. I can't get rid of this
cold. I've had this bad headache - it's not just a headache. My
eyeballs hurt so bad - way in the back - I just wish they would
fall out."
Severe headaches, nosebleeds, shortness of breath, joint pain
and a dry hacking cough "that never leaves" are being reported
by countless Americans jamming hospital Emergency Rooms from
coast to coast. While December and January are traditionally
bad months for asthma sufferers, patients, doctors and nurses
across the U.S. report hospital wards filled to overflowing
with bronchitis, pneumonia and acute asthma admissions at up to
twice normal winter rates.
Early last month, The News and Observer of Raleigh, North
Carolina reported that respiratory admissions to Durham
regional hospital jumped from the usual 184 patients a day to
247. Ambulance drivers were told that the hospital was not
receiving any more patients.
In New York City, doctors are calling a flood of respiratory
cases an epidemic. "We have people double- and triple-parked in
the ER on stretchers," Dr. Elliot Friedman, associate director
of emergency medicine at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in
Queens, told the New York Times on January 31. "And there have
been times when upwards of 40 people have been admitted but are
waiting for someone to be discharged," Friedman added.
"This high fever is not typical of other flus," Dr. Sigurd
Ackerman, the president of St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center
told the 'Times shortly after a TV cameraman panned up to frame
lingering "X"-shaped contrails over Times-Square. Dr. Robert
Saken, a partner in the Soho Pediatrics Group, told that
newspaper, "It was surprising to me how sick they got and how
quickly it happened."
Dr. Ilya Spigland, Montefiore hospital's director of virology,
doesn't know the reason for the sudden epidemic of respiratory
cases. It is, Spigland told the New York Times, "very possible
that the increase in respiratory infections may not be due to
the flu."
That same day in Lake Havasu, California, headlines in Today's
News Herald announced: "Victims curse unnamed bug, but can't
call it the 'flu'." MD Mary Lou Callername told the Herald
"that a nameless virus is bringing at least 10 patients a day
into her office and driving some into the hospital, but
laboratory tests show only a few are suffering from Type A
or other identifiable strains of influenza."
The previous weekend, after San Francisco resident Curtis
Schumann noticed "sky grids in the making," and Melanie Zucker
watched nine contrails being woven over Berkeley, local TV
stations reported Bay area emergency rooms inundated with
flu-like cases.
In Seattle - where a resident reports "I've lived here for
26 years never seeing this number of contrails at once" -
pneumonia patient Lowell Barger told ENS that in the hospital
where he was admitted in late January, "their respiratory ward
was overflowing with people, and they were having to put
respiratory patients in other wards." At that time, a resident
of Spokane listening to a police radio scanner told ENS he
heard "many rescue calls for people with breathing
difficulties."
In Palmyra, New Jersey, shortly after Lucrecia Moon watched
unusual lingering contrails from a McDonald's restaurant, a
nurse reported "many people ill." In Las Vegas, Nevada, TV news
coverage told of area hospitals being filled with people
experiencing breathing problems.
After a resident of Lexington, Kentucky watched helicopters
circling the city for several days, flying low overhead at
3 a.m., "the sky looked like a giant checkerboard from the
planes criss-crossing it, and the air still had the steel mill
smell." According to this eye-witness, "Everyone here is sick.
So far six counties have closed all the schools because all the
students were sick with 'flu-like symptoms'. I've been having
headaches, a sore throat, and an annoying, hacking cough for
the past four months and it seems to get worse after I see
these aircraft circling the area."
Similar "chem trails" sightings continue to be reported over
Phoenix, Arizona. The January 28, 1999 edition of Arizona
Republic reported that "The incidence of bronchial problems in
Phoenix this month is 237 hospitalizations vs. last year at 160
or so."
At the same time, hospitals in Portland, Oregon; Marietta,
Georgia; Chandler, Arizona; Bakersfield, Santa Cruz, Redding
and Salinas, California - and other cities across the nation -
were jammed with bronchitis, pneumonia and other acute
respiratory cases after repeated spraying and cobweb-like
fallout was reported in those regions.
"We're getting sprayed real heavily with the contrails," a
south Pennsylvania resident told ENS. "It's just total
saturation." As overfilled Pennsylvania hospitals were forced
to divert respiratory emergencies to other facilities with bed
space, another south-central Pennsylvania resident, Deborah
Kammerer, looked out her window and watched aircraft "flying
and dispersing over the city. It was supposed to be a clear
sunny day. It became more overcast as the day progressed. I
observed how the white trails widened out and settled down
creating a haze over everything."
South Florida resident Karen Okenica told ENS she has watched
on several occasions as contrails "criss-crossed or ran
parallel to each other. They did not dissipate but got thicker
and stayed in the sky for quite a while." Okenica says she
became frightened after gazing through Nikon binoculars and
noticing an all-white jet with "plumes" coming from the rear of
the plane. In early December, local newspaper reported that
Bethesda Memorial and Delray Community hospitals were full and
could not accommodate any more patients.
The January 7 Philadelphia Daily News reported that "Emergency
Room patients overflowed into the hallways at West Jersey
Hospital in Berlin, New Jersey, and ambulance crews were
temporarily diverted to other institutions as a wave of
respiratory illnesses swept the area." At Northern Westchester
County Hospital, "there was a 24 hour waiting period to get
in."
In Manitou, Michigan, Registered Nurse Kim Korte was driving
north on M52, when she noticed "stripes" in the sky. "It
appeared as if someone took white paint on their fingers and
from north to south ran their fingers through the sky. These
contrails were evenly spaced and covered the whole sky!" from
east to west.
Within 24 hours, Korte became very weak and feverish. After her
boyfriend told her that "many in his family started coming down
with the same complaints," the RN "started noticing alot of my
patients and their family members were coming down with these
symptoms at the same time." On checking with her colleagues,
the former hospital supervisor learned that other nurses and
physicians were complaining "of being extremely busy with
respiratory diagnoses."
In Austin, Texas - where Richard Young reports that "The skies
here are filled almost daily with trails crossing each other"
- a school nurse told a worried parent that she had seen over
100 sick children in a single day.
Where is the mass media's reporting of this mass phenomenon?
Indications of a concerted cover-up came on February 11, when a
retired Southern Baptist preacher named Everett Burton finally
succeeded in reaching C-span. After voicing his opinion on the
Clinton impeachment trial, this former minister told Americans
to get a copy of the Constitution and read it to realize what
they have lost. Rev. Burton then advised viewers not to take
his word for what was happening in the US - but to "just look
up in the skies as the planes regularly spray contrails across
the skies, spraying people and making them ill." At this point,
Rev. Burton was cut off. The screen flipped from C-span to the
Tennessee state seal, remained silent for several minutes.
Americans are not alone in their anxious bewilderment and
suffering. In England, after lingering contrails and
cobweb-like fallout were reported over London and Birmingham,
the BBC reported on January 14 that more than 8,000 people -
mostly elderly - died from pneumonia and other respiratory
complications in the last week of December and the first two
weeks of January, 1999.
According to the BBC, in early January of this year, more than
97,100 people in England and Wales were stricken with
respiratory ailments in a single week - almost double the usual
rate. Ambulances in the Greater Manchester and Mersey region
were each dealing with more than 1,000 calls every day - almost
twice the norm. Norfolk and Norwich suffered such an unexpected
increase in deaths, a refrigerated semi-trailer capable of
holding 36 bodies was pressed into service as a temporary

sending two epidemiologists to remote region of northeastern
Afghanistan where a mystery disease has reportedly affected 2,000
people and killed 150 others. The epidemiologists will travel to
Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on Saturday and then take a helicopter into
four affected villages in Darwaz, an extremely remote area located in
narrow valleys between high mountains. Normal access is by foot from
Faizabad in Pakistan, a trip which usually takes about 10 days. WHO
offices in Afghanistan first received reports of themystery outbreak
from Darwaz authorities a week ago. Symptoms of the disease which has
the most serious affects on the elderly women and children, include
fever, vomiting, diarrhea, cough and pain.

Finnish researchers, there has been a dramatic increase in the number
of new HIV-1 A/B recombinant subtype cases in the Russian region of
Kaliningrad, which borders Poland and Lithuania. Since June 1996,
there have been about 100 new cases of HIV-1 infection reported a
month in the region, with 1,709 cases reported as of December 1997.
The strainis derived from Ukrainian A and B viruses; the report
indicates that there may have been a single source for infections
among intravenous drug users. At the Sixth Conference on Retroviruses
and Opportunistic Infections, the researchers said they believe that
the virus could be introduced into Europe through the open borders of
Poland and Lithuania, and asserted that prevention strategies are

Just for the record, the Lord could not have been physically in Jerusalem in
the year 32 AD because by that year He would have been 35 years old contrary
to the Gospels.
If the Lord was crucified in 32 AD, then He would have been born in 1 BC which
is erroneous because Herod, the Great, died in March of 3 BC; therefore, the
Lord Jesus must have been born before Herod's death since the Bible says that
Herod sought to kill all male toddlers under age 2 to include the Lord.

Feb. 17 _ In one scene from the movie Patton, the general demands of
his military chaplain "I want a prayer _ a weather prayer. Let's see
if we can't get God working with us on this thing." We now live in an
age of such advanced technology, that rather than just praying for the
weather, it may one day be possible to control it.
Consider what might happen on some battlefield of the future where the
U.S. military could gain a tactical advantage by changing the weather.
There are several ways they might try to do that. One way would be to
create rain that turns battlefields into mudbaths in order to
immobilize enemy troops and enemies. Another is by triggering
lightning storms over airfields to keep hostile aircraft on the
ground. Yet another possibility would be to burn through a heavy fog
by firing lasers to give U.S. fighter pilots a better view of enemy
targets. An Air Force research paper called "Owning the Weather in
2025" predicts that weather modification could reshape battlefields.
Agreement Bars Weather Manipulation
But there is a problem with turning theory into fact. Using weather as
a weapon is a clear violation of international agreements. In 1977,
the United Nations passed and the U.S. signed, a resolution that
prohibits changing the weather for hostile purposes on the grounds
that too many civilians could be harmed. So the U.S. military, which
once seeded clouds in Vietnam to produce heavy rains along the Ho Chi
Minh trail, can now only concentrate on better weather forecasting.
"We want to anticipate and exploit the weather, not modify it." says
U.S. Air Force Director of Weather Brig. Gen. Fred Lewis.
But that does not mean the research has stopped. In the U.S. and in
many other countries, the private sector continues to work on weather
modification technology _ work that could also be used on the
battlefield. And as this research continues on, for example, cloud
seeding techniques that produce heavy rain to help farmers in time of
drought or laser technology that could clear heavy fog for passenger
jets, the military is watching. Armies have never been able to conquer
Mother Nature. But if new technology were to make that possible,
researchers it's a weapon no military power could afford to be
without.

Advances in medical technology mean men could now bear children,
according to one of Britain's leading fertility experts, the Sunday
Times reported.
The paper, citing a forthcoming book by Lord Robert Winston, says
doctors could use modern techniques to implant an embryo into a man's
abdomen, allowing him to carry it to full term and give birth by
caesarian section.
Professor Winston, who was ennobled three years ago, is head of the
fertility clinic at a leading London hospital.
"Male pregnancy would certainly be possible, and would be the same as
when a woman has an ectopic pregnancy -- outside the uterus --
although to sustain it, you'd have to give the man lots of female
hormones," the paper quoted him as saying.
He outlines the concept in a book due to be published in April.
Winston said such fetuses could be implanted inside the abdomen with
the placenta, through which the baby is fed, attached to an internal
organ, such as the bowel.
He acknowledges it would be dangerous because of the risk of bleeding
from the placenta, and hormone treatment could leave the man with
larger breasts.
The idea of a man giving birth was the plot of the Hollywood film
"Junior" starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, as the parent-to-be, and
Danny DeVito.
If it did indeed prove possible, it could benefit homosexual couples
and heterosexual couples where the woman could not physically carry a
baby, the paper added.
The Sunday Times cited a recent case of a woman in England who carried
a baby outside the womb. The embryo made its way into her abdomen and
attached itself to her bowel, but she was able to continue with the
pregnancy without mishap.
Other fertility experts quoted by the paper agreed male pregnancies
were, in theory, possible, but warned of ethical problems.

Admiral sees storm clouds over China

he United States faces a period of difficult relations with China in
the months immediately ahead, according to the outgoing commander of
U.S. military forces in the Pacific and Asia.
Adm. Joseph Prueher, who is turning over his command here Feb. 19 after
three years in the post, said China is having problems maintaining its
economic growth rate and might run into widespread unemployment.
If China's economic plans start to crumble, Adm. Prueher said, that
would generate "great problems with stability." As Chinese leaders
seek to stabilize the nation, he added in an interview, "that bleeds
into human rights, it bleeds into control. It's a dilemma and that
creates a problem with the United States."
Adm. Prueher is turning over the command to Adm. Dennis Blair, who has
been director of the Joint Staff in the Pentagon.
Looking ahead, Adm. Prueher remarked:
"I think our approach needs to be one of respect and also of strength
in dealing and working and moving forward with the Chinese."
The course that Adm. Prueher advocates contrasts with inconsistencies
in the administration's policy.
President Clinton, for instance, was conciliatory toward the Chinese
during his trip to China in June, but Secretary of State Madeleine K.
Albright recently gave them a tongue-lashing at an embassy reception
in Washington.
Despite differences, Adm. Prueher said he was optimistic about U.S.
relations with China, notably those he has cultivated with the
People's Liberation Army (PLA).
In the long run, Adm. Prueher said he believes the Chinese are seeking
to revive the concept of the Middle Kingdom in which China dominates
Asia.
"The Chinese believe they are the hub of the region," he said. "At some
point in the future, they would like to have everyone in the region
have to have China's approval for whatever they might want to do."
In Shanghai recently, Adm. Prueher cautioned the Chinese that the
United States seeks to ensure "that no hostile coalition arises" in
Asia. "It is not in our mutual interest for any state, including the
United States, to become a Pacific hegemony," he said.
With China and North Korea building long-range missiles, Adm. Prueher
predicts the United States will build a missile-defense system in the
western Pacific -- a prospect that has generated vigorous protests
from Beijing.
Adm. Prueher, however, was adamant. "We would be irresponsible as
nations develop missiles if we did not worry hard as we send our
troops and our ships and our aircraft around the world," he said. "So
we are going to do theater missile defense. We will do it in the
Pacific."
Whether that would include Taiwan, over which China claims sovereignty,
was left open. Adm. Prueher said only: "We've had no discussions with
Taiwan on that."
Adm. Prueher said the possibility of hostilities had been discussed
with senior officers of the Peoples Liberation Army, as well as with
military leaders of Taiwan, with which the United States has
quasi-diplomatic relations.
"All of us agree that bringing the China-Taiwan issue to a military
type of confrontation is a no-winner," he said. "That path doesn't
take anybody anywhere any of us want to go."
Asked about the sea lane through the South China Sea -- which is vital
to the economies of East Asia and, indirectly, the industrial world
--Adm. Prueher said, "We support freedom of navigation," even though
China claims sovereignty over a number of islands in that sea.
Adm. Prueher said that 114 ships a day, or 41,600 a year, pass through
the Straits of Malacca at the southern entrance to the waterway, with
most turning toward Northeast Asia. In contrast, 42 ships a day, or
15,300 a year, pass through the Panama Canal.
To preserve the freedom of navigation, Adm. Prueher said, "We have a
fairly robust military presence transiting through the South China Sea
frequently," including amphibious ships loaded with Marines.
"We do not advertise it a lot," he said, "but we're looking at making a
little bigger show of our presence there than we have in the past."
On other issues, Adm. Prueher said:
The United States should pay more attention to Indonesia because that
nation, troubled by economic calamity and political distress, sits
athwart the Straits of Malacca and is the strategic center of
Southeast Asia. Indonesia's army has been criticized for being
heavy-handed in seeking to keep order, but Adm. Prueher argued it has
done a "good job at keeping anarchy from prevailing." Japanese and
Americans, including Congress, should be more aware of the mutual
costs and benefits of stationing U.S. forces in Japan. Japan pays $5
billion a year in support and bears the irritations of foreign troops
on its soil. The United States defends Japan with soldiers and sailors
who would rather serve at home. "In most of the dialogue I hear," Adm.
Prueher said, "all of these costs and mutual benefits are not usually
brought out." The Pacific Command has sufficient forces to meet an
emergency in Korea or "for any contingency we think is remotely
likely," even though units have been dispatched to the Persian Gulf,
the Middle East, Bosnia-Herzegovina and elsewhere in Europe. But the
command is deficient in communications, logistics, intelligence,
mobility and base facilities. A year from now, staff officers said,
those shortcomings will begin to hurt.

A medical doctor who left his practice to investigate the role of
prayer in healing says the results of empirical studies have made this
an ``incredibly fertile moment in Western science'' - and the
beginning of a new era.
More than 250 studies on the effects of religious devotion on health
and well-being have been ``a bombshell'' for doctors, says Larry
Dossey, author of several books including ``Healing Words: the Power
of Prayer and the Practice of Medicine'' (1997). They've led to a
spurt in the number of medical schools offering courses on mind/body
medicine - from three just three years ago to 50 out of the 125
schools in the United States today.
But the shift in perspective and practice is opening the door to more
significant change, Dr. Dossey said in a Monitor visit. He is writing
a new book, ``The Reinvention of Medicine,'' considering the form
medicine would take if based on the results of the multiplying studies
on ``distant healing'' or ``intercessory prayer,'' which he says
provide evidence for a concept of consciousness beyond brain and body.
A small study done at the California Pacific Medical Center in San
Francisco, published in The Western Journal of Medicine in December,
showed significant effects of ``distant healing'' on severe AIDS
patients (e.g. fewer doctor visits, fewer hospitalizations, fewer
so-called AIDS-related illnesses), Dossey says. In his own view, he
adds, it's time to put prayer at the top of interventions rather than
making it the last resort.
We are now entering the third era in medicine, he posits. The first,
in the 19th and early 20th century, viewed the body as machine. The
1950s began a second era of mind/body medicine, recognizing that
thought affects the body. The third era of ``nonlocal medicine'' will
be based on the implications of consciousness existing irrespective of
space and time. While most doctors still think of consciousness in
terms of brain, he said, some scientists herald a change. David
Chalmers of the University of California at Santa Cruz calls
consciousness a fundamental in the universe on a par with matter and
energy. The implications, Dossey says, are profound.

VATICAN CITY (AP) -- The Vatican's latest yearbook, presented to Pope
John Paul II on Saturday, puts the number of Roman Catholics in the
world at 1 billion 5 million.
Last April, the Vatican estimated that the number had topped 1
billion. The just-published 1999 Pontifical Yearbook refers to the
number of baptized Catholics as of Dec. 31, 1997, and the Vatican said
that population was equal to about 17.3 percent of the world's people.
The yearbook, compiled by church officials and from other data, also
notes that the Holy See has diplomatic relations with 168 countries.

photographs benefited from nearly $1.5 in federal funds and technical
advice from the U.S. Secret Service. The Washington Post is reporting
today that members of Congress who approved the funds believed the
files would be used to fight terrorism and immigration abuses, but the
company involved, Image Data LLC of Nashua, N.H., says they plan to
use the photos only to help prevent check and credit card fraud.

Israeli Government Considers Allowing Prayer on Temple Mount
The Israeli government is considering allowing Jews to pray on the
Temple Mount. This possible change was proposed by the government as a
reaction to the plans of the Grand Mufti to move his office to the
Temple Mount area. The Muslim Wakf on the Temple Mount is preparing
these offices for him. Both the move and the building of the offices
is against the law and, at the same time, is a terrible abomination on
the Temple Mount.
The Mufti represents the so-called "Palestinian Authority" as the
person responsible for religious affairs. The head of the "Palestinian
Authority", the terrorist Arrafat, wants to move him to the Temple
Mount in an attempt to change the status quo and to make the Temple
Mount a part of his jurisdiction. The move of the Mufti to the Temple
Mount is very anti-Israeli and represents the continuing efforts to
change the physical and spiritual aspects of the Temple Mount and
change the site of the First,
Second and Third Temples to a completely Moslem site. At the same
time, it
will be an attempt to break the Israeli sovereignty over the Temple
Mount and strengthen the hostility of the Muslims against Israel.
Since 1967 the Moslems on the Temple Mount have used the holy hill of
G-d as a political center of hostility and hatred against Israel.
Throughout history they used religious terms for political gains. At
the same time, the building of offices for the Mufti on the Temple
Mount continues the destruction of the last remains of the First and
Second Temples and the building of new structures is against Israeli
law and without licences. All of this continues the abomination on the
Temple Mount which is constantly undertaken by the Muslims and no one
is trying to stop this barbaric destruction and changes on the Temple
Mount. The UN and governments all over the world, and even the Israeli
government, showed weakness in preventing this.
The decision of the Israeli government shows an important change in
the policy of the Israeli government towards the Temple Mount and I am
so sorry that it came only as a reaction to the move of the Mufti to
the Temple Mount. It should have been done immediately after the
liberation of the Temple Mount in 1967 as a natural result of the
liberation of the Temple Mount in a godly war which brought Israel
back to their real home and the heart, soul and focus of this nation
for the last 4000 years since the G-d of Israel designated it to be
His holy house. Unfortunately as a result of weakness and fear of the
Islamic Arab reaction the Israeli government forbad the Israeli people
from praying on their most holy place on earth. The Israeli government
thought that by this act they would achieve peace with the Arab
nations as soon as they appreciated it. It is so sad that in this way
the Israeli government behaved in a shameful manner and at the same
time did not achieve peace. The Arab nations understood it as weakness
and answered it with mor violence, hatred, war and terror of which the
Temple Mount became a focus. The Israeli government preferred to make
a false peace which was just an illusion and not to make a real peace
with the G-d of Israel Who commanded His people to make pilgrimage to
the holy site, to pray their and worship Him, and to rebuild His holy
Temple at this
exciting prophetic end-time for Israel and for all the nations.
It never happened in the 4000 year history of the Jewish people that
an Israeli government surrendered to its enemies and closed the gates
of the Temple Mount to Israeli prayer and worship. The fear of the
Israeli government to the reaction of millions of Muslims and possibly
others with them has no base and it represents not only weakness but,
more than this, disobedience and lack of trust in the G-d of Israel
Who promised His people that he would protect them and would not let
any of their enemies even touch them when they fulfilled His
commandments, mainly on His holy site. The rebirth of Israel in 1948
and the regathering of the Jewish people back to the promised land,
the major miracle which G-d performed when He brought His people back
to their historical eternal capital and, on top of this, to the Temple
Mount, was not just an accident and for nothing but to again establish
the kingdom of G-d and Israel, to rebuild His house and to renew their
prayers and worship on the Temple Mount. For this The Temple Mount and
Land of Israel Faithful Movement is conducting a long historical
campaign. This campaign will not be stopped until this commandment and
deep desire of G-d will be fulfilled soon in our lifetime.
If this decision of the Israeli government is carried out, it will
open an new stage in the campaign of The Temple Mount and Land of
Israel Faithful Movement which has been making all the effort for so
many years to convince and encourage the government to immediately
open the Temple Mount for Jewish prayer and worship and not to fear
any of its enemies and to only trust in the G-d of Israel Who alone
controls the destiny of His people, the seed of Abraham, Isaac and
Jacob. We shall continue to act and to put all our efforts with all
our dedication and devotion for this godly goal. We shall pray that
this will be just the first light at the end of the long and difficult
tunnel. We shall act with all our strength that the rest will soon be
done by the Israel government. At the same time we shall make all the
legal efforts to stop the moving of the mufti to the holy hill of G-d
and Israel. If the Israeli government allows the move, it will not
only cause terrible damage to her sovereignty on the Temple Mount but
a sinful mistake which the G-d of Israel will never accept. If the
Israeli government does not prevent the Mufti moving to the Temple
Mount, The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement will
petition the Supreme Court of Israel to do so. This petition will be
presented even if the Mufti only stays in Jerusalem because even this
will represent the efforts of the terrorist and murderer, Arrafat, to
make Jerusalem a foreign, so-called "Palestinian", capital. He wants
to make it no more the city of G-d which He named Jerusalem but a
foreign Muslim city called El Quds. Again it will be an act against
the Israeli sovereignty over the eternal capital of G-d and Israel,
Jerusalem.
We shall continue to share developments about this issue in the near
future. I want to add to this important article about Jerusalem the
Word of G-d in Zechariah 12:1-10 and to state very clearly that we
trust only in the G-d of Israel and the universe.
The burden of the word of the Lord concerning Israel, says the Lord,
who stretches out the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth,
and forms the spirit of man inside him. Behold, I will make Jerusalem
a cup of reeling to all the people around, and it shall also be
against Judah in the siege against Jerusalem. And on that day I will
make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the peoples; all who burden
themselves with it shall be grievously hurt. And all the peoples of
the earth shall be gathered together against it. On that day, says the
Lord, I will strike every horse with panic, and its rider with
madness; and I will open my eyes upon the house of Judah, and will
strike every horse of the nations with blindness. And the governors of
Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem are my
strength through the Lord of hosts their God. On that day I will make
the governors of Judah like a hearth of fire among trees, and like a
torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the peoples
around, on the right hand and on the left; and Jerusalem shall be
inhabited again in her own place, in Jerusalem. And the Lord shall
save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David

This Tuesday evening something extraordinary will appear in the sky.
The two brightest planets, Venus and Jupiter pair off in an extremely
close configuration, which astronomers call a conjunction. A
conjunction between Venus and Jupiter, in itself, is not a rare
event, occurring on average about 8 to 12 times per decade. Usually
in such cases the smallest angular distance between these two planets
is about a degree or two, one degree's being equal to the width of
two full Moons. What makes Tuesday's conjunction very special is that
the separation of the two planets will be measured not in angular
degrees but in arc minutes. Sixty arc minutes equals one degree. From
New York, at sunset, Venus and Jupiter will appear a mere 11 arc
minutes apart--that is less than two-tenths of a degree. If skies are
clear, expect a bevy of phone inquiries to media outlets and police
stations regarding a weird unidentified flying object hovering in the
western twilight sky.
[This conjunction will be in the constellation of Pisces.]

following was pertinent.]
Abarbanel [rabbinic writer] says that the Messiah will appear when
there is a conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in the constellation of
Pisces.
Three times this configuration was seen in the heavens within a one
year time period around 7 BC. Apparently this was particularly
visible in the Mediterranean.
According to the Jews,
Pisces is the sign of Israel, the sign of the Messiah.
Jupiter is the lucky/royal star.
Saturn is the protector of Israel (although Babylonians believed it
was the special star of Syria and Palestine).
I once asked an astronomer when the next conjunction of Jupiter and
Saturn in Pisces would be and he said April 1, 1999 at 7 a.m. EST. I
have not been able to verify this. I have a small astronomy program

What is the Morning Star?
"'Morning Star' is a name often used to describe the planet Venus. For
part of each year Venus rises in the eastern sky, just before the sun.
Since it is a very bringht planet and at that time remains visible
into the morning hours, it might be called a morning star even though
it isn't really a star at all. During other parts of the year, Venus
becomes an eveningstar. Then it sets in the west, after the sun.
Whether visible in the morning or evening, Venus never moves very far
from the sun because it is an inner planet. Mercury also qualifies as
a morning and evening light, but it is more difficult to see.
"In Scripture the title morning star is used in three different ways.
First, Job 38:7 describes angels as morning stars (or day stars) that
sang together at the creation of the universe. Angels were part of the
initial creation (Col 1:16) and thus became witnesses of the great
event. Second, the king of Babylon is described as a morning star and
also a fallen star (Isa 14:4,12). The evil leader fell from the
highest position to the lowest, just as Satan did. Third, the Lord
Jesus is described as 'the bright Morning Star' (Rev 22:16), which
rises in our hearts (2 Peter 1:19). Early-morning stargazers often
watch the eastern sky to see the brilliant planet Venus rise to signal
a new day. As Christians--children of God--we are told to shine 'like

Immanuel Velikovsky in his "Worlds in Collision" postulates that
Venus was first a comet that had a close call with earth during the
time of the Exodus. At its closest approach there were giant hail
storms, darkness, earthquakes, hurricanes, tidal waves, intense heat,
reversed polarity of the earth, changes in times and seasons, etc..
Legends from around the world parallel this phenomena and are
documented in the book. The comet was most readily described as a
snakelike serpent in the sky that afterwards became a planet.
These ancient manuscripts demonstrate a very sophisticated system of
documenting heavenly phenomena and are, therefore, curious in their
insistence that there were only 4 planets (Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, and
